Integration Circles

What are integration circles?

A group of six people sitting in a semi-circle inside a room with large windows, a stained glass window panel, and a patterned rug on the wooden floor.

When many people think about psychedelics, they assume that the medicine and journey are the most important thing. In fact, integration — the time that comes after a journey, when the brain is most open to new patterns, and both tangible and intangible learnings can be applied to real life — is absolutely essential.

An integration circle is a peer or facilitator-led group for people making sense of psychedelic experiences, whether their own, a loved one’s, recent, upcoming, or long past.

Integration circles are peer support, not therapy or clinical treatment; independently organized (Mass Healing provides materials and training but does not supervise, certify, or control circles); and substance-free — no substances are present, exchanged, or coordinated at any circle.

Circles often borrow from peer-support traditions, but the room itself is simple: people speak honestly, listen carefully, and are not asked to be fixed. No one will diagnose you, sell you anything, or tell you what your experience means.

What circles offer is modest and rare: steady people, on a regular schedule, who know that big experiences can keep working on us for a long time.

At Mass Healing, we believe that everyone should have access to integration support, so in the coming months we will be introducing Integration Circles both offline and in communities across Massachusetts.
